Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your LBC account. Even if someone obtains your password, they won't be able to log in without the second factor — a time-based code generated by an authenticator app on your phone.
Passwords can be compromised through phishing, data breaches, or password reuse. 2FA ensures that only you — with access to your authenticator app — can log into your account. This is especially important for organization staff accounts that manage sensitive pet data and adoption applications.
Setting up 2FA takes less than two minutes:
Once verified, 2FA is active. The next time you log in, you'll be prompted for a code after entering your password.
Any app that supports standard TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) will work, including:
When you enable 2FA, LBC generates 10 one-time backup codes. Each code can be used once to log in if you lose access to your authenticator app.
Important: Download and store these codes securely before closing the setup page. LBC cannot regenerate or recover backup codes for you.
If you need to disable 2FA:
Your account will revert to password-only login. We recommend enabling 2FA again as soon as possible.
Use one of your backup codes to log in, then set up 2FA on a new device immediately. Generate new backup codes after reconfiguration.
Contact LBC support at support@lbc.app. To verify your identity, you'll need to provide:
Support can disable 2FA on your account, allowing you to log in with just your password and re-enable 2FA afterward. This process may take 1-3 business days for security reasons.
